Our quotations will include sufficient adhesive to meet one of the following appropriate adhesive applications:
OPTION A: Loose-Lay
For indoor installations customer wishing a more “portable option” may elect to “loose lay” the surface for easy removal or periodic cleaning. Customers electing to eliminate the use of adhesive may experience some shifting in the surface as a result of no adhesion. Degree of shifting will depend on the floor surface underneath the tiles as well as the degree of activity. However, if there are interior “open” pocket sections, treat those as “perimeter-to-tile”. Such a layout will have to be closely monitored for loose tiles which may case a tripping hazard.
This is not a highly recommended solution.
Best for:
- Smaller indoor areas with limited activity
- Indoor wall-to-wall areas where the walls create the retaining border to hold tiles together
OPTION B: Perimeter-to-Tile
Holds the tile system together by using adhesive on the outer 12" of perimeter tiles No need to use tile-to-base adhesive. Tiles can be separated later by cutting the adhesive bond between tiles.
Good for smaller indoor areas, with moderate activity.
Best for: Indoor areas with moderate to heavy activity
OPTION C: Tile-to-Tile + Perimeter to Base
To ensure minimum shifting of the tile system, use the adhesive with:
a. tile-to-tile application for the whole area.
b. tiles-to-base for the outer 12" of the perimeter
It is mandatory for any outdoor application as required by the warranty.
Best for: Large outdoor areas with heavy activity
