What is Boing made from?
Boing safety padding product is a special “integral skin urethane” foam material which has superior impact attenuation (shock absorbing) properties while providing a tough UV treated outer protective skin. It has been successfully tested to meet applicable commercial and residential safety requirements.

The thick outer “skin” protects the interior foam from abrasion, UV rays, moisture and bacteria.

Where and when can you use Boing?
Boing safety padding can be used anywhere to protect people from sharp/dangerous edges, corner, surfaces:
● Playgrounds
● All other types of recreational play areas (indoor & outdoor)
● Commercial Facilities
● Industrial facilities and equipment
● Medical Facilities
● Military facilities, vehicles and equipment

In what forms is Boing available?
● Corner strips - designed for all types of wall/equipment/furniture corners, fireplaces etc
- also great for “square posts”
● Jumbo 3-D Corners - for all dangerous or sharp 3-sided corners
● Wall padding - designed to be used on any hard/solid wall surface (Sheetrock, brick, wood, etc)
● Round Post padding - for all “round” steel posts with 5" diameter

Is it safe?
Boing can be used in commercial and residential environments. It has passed or surpassed a variety of safety requirements including Compression, Toxicity etc. Safety testing documentation available upon request. It has anti-bacterial properties and passes ASTM G21 testing for a variety of bacteria.

Boing contains no PVC, lead or phthalates.

Is it fireproof?
Boing does not currently contain fire and smoke retardants to meet Class A fire codes. There are many, many different local, national and international fire codes, each with different property requirements. It is not possible to have one product that meets the various fire codes for all possible applications.

Customer must weigh the benefit of the Boing shock-absorbing safety padding and the many injuries it can prevent versus meeting fire codes for your specific application.

Is it long lasting?
Durability is relative to the amount and type of use. It will last many, many years if used in the manner it was designed. Longevity will be reduced by excessive or aggressive use.

Can it be used outside?
Boing can be used indoors or outdoors. All plastic products, even those that are UV treated, will eventually fade in the sun. The stronger the sun, the faster it fades. The darker the initial color, the stronger it fades. In addition the impact absorbing characteristics are reduced in very cold (below 32F) and very hot (over 100 F) weather. These factors will vary from region to region.

Please note that the 4 primary colors (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow) have better UV resistance than the other colors.

It is best if the product is not exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.

How do you attach?
We recommend you use “GE-Silicone I” brand Rubber Silicone. Do NOT use the “Silicone II".

You can also use 3M VHB (Very High Bond tape)

The aluminum re-inforced strips can also be attached with screws (strips are pre-drilled)

How much silicone do you need?
The amount will vary with the type of surface to be protected and the degree of adhesion. As a rough estimate, you can generally attach the following numbers with a single 300ml tube:
Wall Pad - 2 to 3; or
Corner Strip - 6 to 8; or,
Jumbo Corner Guard - 12 to 14; or,
Post Pad - 1 to 2 sets

In what colors is it available?
Currently available in up to 10 vibrant colors - depending on the shape.
- Not all items are available in the full color range. We only carrry the most popular colors.
- We can have it made for you in a custom color based on minimum quantities

Can you paint it?
We do not offer "painting" products or services.

There are some "water-based" urethane paints to which you add color pigment. You can try, for example SC115 aliphatic polyurethane coating. May require SC-80 water based primer. There is also a solvent based SC89 flexible urethane coating but it requires excellent ventillation and proper protective mask. Due to the complexity of the product, variable sizes etc, we do not get involved in the sale of such products.See www.burmanfoam.com

How do you clean and maintain?
Under normal circumstances, little maintenance is required. Cleaning should be undertaken with normal household cleaning materials that are "non-abrasive". Limit your use of solvent based to the toughest cleaning jobs - follow manufacturers instructions. Unfortunately certain kinds of permanent markers like ballpoint pens and felt pens cannot be completely removed as the ink seeps into the surface layer.

Can it be used on the floor or under playground equipment?
Boing Wall Guards are currently designed only for wall protection - not for flooring. There are currently no specific ASTM safety standards designed for “wall” padding as there are for “ground” vertical impact attenuation. However, BoingTM has been tested to ASTM 1292 specifications for ground safety surfacing and almost matches the 3' fall height - which is excellent for lateral impact attenuation.

How does Boing compare with competitors?
There are some “corner” guard products available, but most competitors:
● are not for heavy duty use
● do not have a protective "skin" - just the foam
● have limited anti-abrasion properties
● are generally available only in neutral colors like Gray, Ivory, Brown ....no bright colors
● do not have any UV inhibitors
